by Karen Chia @ Ministry of Social Media Says on August 12, 2011

LinkedIn is learning from the misdeed of Facebook and doing what users hate! Some 100 million users have been auto opt in to sharing private information within advertisements.

Like what Facebook did, going under the guise of providing “more privacy” to unsuspecting users. The only mention made know to user is merely a blog post here: “Ads enhanced by the power of your network” Date June 23rd 2011 by Ryan Roslansky.

Having an account with such social sites, does not mean we have given consent to whatever social media sites chooses to force down our throat. For users who want to turn that off please make sure you uncheck the boxes under “Manage Social Advertising” and “Turn on/off enhanced advertising”. Privacy controls can be found under Account settings. You can refer to the screen shots below as well.
